Frozen Section Biopsy

Frozen Section Biopsy

Biopsies are small samples of tissue taken from a mass or tumor that are examined under a microscope to make a diagnosis. Biopsies are used most often to determine whether cancer cells are present, although certain infections and other diseases can be diagnosed as well. A specific type of biopsy procedure called the frozen section was developed in order to make a rapid diagnosis of a mass during surgery. The December 28, 2005, issue of JAMA includes an article about the origins of the frozen section technique.

FROZEN SECTION PROCEDURE

During the frozen section procedure, the surgeon removes a portion of the tissue mass. This biopsy is then given to a pathologist (a doctor who examines tissues and uses laboratory tests to make a diagnosis). The pathologist freezes the tissue in a cryostat machine, cuts it with a microtome, and then stains it with various dyes so that it can be examined under the microscope. The procedure usually takes only minutes.

ADVANTAGES OF FROZEN SECTION BIOPSY

  • If more tissue is needed to make an accurate diagnosis, the surgeon is able to obtain an additional sample, avoiding a second operation.
  • If the tissue is determined to be cancerous and is amenable to surgery, the mass can be removed at that time.
  • If the tissue is determined to be benign (not cancerous), then the mass may not always need to be removed and the surgery can end.
  • The frozen section biopsy can help ensure that the mass being removed is the intended tissue for removal.
  • It can help ensure that the entire mass and its surrounding borders are removed.
  • It allows for the collection of proper tissue samples for further scientific research.
  • The surgeon and pathologist are able to collaborate to care for the patient.
Sometimes pathologists are not able to determine the diagnosis based on the frozen section and instead must rely on the permanent section. In this procedure the tissue is not frozen but instead is placed in a fixative solution, embedded in wax, thinly cut, and then stained. Although this takes longer than a frozen section (usually 1 day), the permanent section leads to better-quality microscope slides. All biopsies are limited by the sample taken. Cancer or other diseases may be so small that they are not present in the tissue sample but may still be present elsewhere. Multiple biopsies may be needed to make a diagnosis.

Surat Dari Iblis

(Surat Dari Iblis)

(
Surat ini akan membuat anda benar-benar berfikir)

(Sebenarnya

****************************************

SURAT DARI SETAN UNTUK MU

Aku melihatmu kemarin, saat engkau memulai aktiviti harianmu.

Kau bangun tanpa sujud mengerjakan subuhmu

Hai Bodoh, Kamu millikku.

Ayuhlah, Hai Bodoh, kita terbakar bersama, selamanya.

Aku masih memiliki rencana2 hangat untuk kita.

Ini hanya merupakan
surat penghargaanku untuk mu.

Aku ingin mengucapkan 'TERIMAKASIH' kerana sudah mengizinkanku
memanfaatkan hampir semua masa hidupmu.

Kamu memang sangat mudah dibodohi, aku menertawakanmu.

Begitulah anak-anak .

Baiklah, aku persilakan kau bergerak sekarang.

Jangan salah sangka, aku masih tetap membencimu.

Guys & Girls

Guys drinks to forget about the girl...
Girls drinks to think back about that guy..

When guys are in love, they become poorer
But when girls are in love, they become prettier

Guys can forget, but cannot forgive...
Girls can forgive, but cannot forget..

Guys care most about the quantity of love...
But girls care most about the quality of love..

Guys break-up when they feel love from another Girl...
Girls break-up when they feel Separation from her man...

Guys feels curious towards all girls...
Girls feel curious towards the guys who are Interested in her..

When guys are heartbroken, they try to forget the girl by going out with other girls...
When girls are heartbroken, they try to find his Characteristics from other guys...

Guys wishes to be her first love....
And girls wishes to be his last love...

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh"

Best baca sampai abis!!!. It's true.

To share..Dari Ilham seorang lelaki...

"Wanita adalah insan istimewa, biarkan mereka terus membebel, merengek atau mengilai seperti pontianak. Seburuk-buruk perangai wanita, ia akan terus melekat di hati kita selagi hayat di kandung badan...

" Ibu, ibu... engkau lah ratu hari ku....."

Bagaimana rasanya sehari tanpa ibu? I dunno lah anak-anak sekarang, tetapi when i was small, sekiranya emak tiada, semua jadi serba tidak kena!

Usahkan seminggu, dua hari sahaja dia tiada dirumah, hidup bagaikan dah tak bermakna. Memanglah, mula-mulanya emak keluar rumah, hati melonjak HAPPINESS!!!

Kalau mak tak ada, telinga boleh lega sebab if she's around, for sure 24 hours tak habis-habis berleter....

pottttt peeettt pooott peettttt, boleh pecah eardrums.

And if mak menjerit, boleh bergegar isi perut. Silap gaya, tingkap pun boleh tercabut...
And if mak takde, BangZaiiiiii!!! MerdeKa!!! FreeDoMmmmmm!!!

Can do whatever!!!

Boleh main bleyblade sampai senja, boleh tido rumah kawan, boleh chatting sampai nak terkeluar biji bola mata, boleh bergayut kat talipon ngan "dear" sampai subuh and paling shiookkk, boleh ponteng solat!!

But, the happiness does not long last. Masuk hari ke-2 dah terasa kehilangan. Sepi betul rasanya bila tak mendengar leteran mak. Rumah jadik sesepi-sepinya cam "haunted village".

Pada ketika itulah baru kita sedar bahawa leteran mak yang seperti murai, sebenarnya penyeri
rumah. Tanpa leteran itu, semunya seperti MATI...

Without mum, hidup ni tak ada cabaran, not challenging, no suspense. Balik kul braper pun, takde orang nak membebel, takde orang nak pulas telinga.

Our life graph becomes very the monotenous, then we realised, jari jemari mak yang suka cubit dah mem iat telinga rupanya menjadikan hidup lebih bermakna.

Pendek kata, biarlah mak membebel sepanjang hari. Biarlah dia menjentik telinga. Tanpanya, hidup tidak berseri dan tak bererti.

Demikianlah besarnya erti seorang EMAK, IBU, UMMI, MUMMY, MAMA in our life!!

Kau Isteri Ku....

Itu mungkin one of the reason why anak-anak tak berapa takut and at times, hanya memekakkan telinga setiap kali ibu memberi "ceramah percuma".

Mungkin anak-anak tak terasa kehilangan or boleh jadi melompat keriangan bila ibu takde kat rumah ( for instance if she's gone for a short holiday).

Budak-budak sekarang ramai kawan, banyak caranya mereka mengisi waktu. They will go for movies, clubbing, or most to most lepak kat happening places..

As for me is different, if my wif e is not at home, rumah boleh jadik porak peranda. Memang true, jika isteri ada dirumah, kepala slalu pening.

Pantang kalau isteri ada kat rumah and i'm off duty, sure at times boleh membuat kepala berserabut. Kalau madame takde kat rumah, alangkah tenteramnya hidup ini. Boleh buat apa yang kita suka. Boleh belengkar kat depan TV tanpa sebarang gangguan mental dah fizikal. Pendek kata,FreeeDoMmmmm lah!!

But hairan bin ajaib, when dia betul-betul pergi meaning "She's Gone", aku pulak terasa separuh mati.

Sehari dua memanglah shiookkkk, no once shouting from the kitchen for help, no one to komen this and that, no one to criticise. Everything will be smooth...

Tapi, masuk hari ketiga, i felt something is missing. Lebih-lebih lagi bila tuala mandi dah berbau 'assshheemmmm', tak tahu mana nak carik yang baru. Colgate gigi dah abis, tak tahu kat mana dia stock up. Air suam dah abis, malas nak boil...

Masuk hari ke-4, rindu mula terasa.

Memang lah dia tak se-cun SITI NURHALIZA but the smile yang ikhlas, forever melekat kat hati and sukar ada pengganti.

Apabila rindu mencengkam, semuanya jadi tak tentu arah. Tengok TV citer best pun jadik tak best.

Nasik bungkus faberite jadik tak faberite. Makan kat 5 star hotel jadik rasa cam makan kat kedai AA. Lebih-lebih lagi bila laundry basket dah makin bertimbun ngan baju kotor, fresh sluar dalam pun dah abis utk dipakai.

Toilet dah mula licin berdaki...lantai dah berbelak, tak dimop...Every nite, very the lonely, baring atas katil nengok ceiling blindly... bila lonely gini, baru lah rasa benar kesepian.

Jangan kata sebulan atau setahun.... belum seminggu isteri takde kat rumah, aku dah terasa separuh pengsan.
Bila bersendirian begini, dan terasa malam begitu dingin, barulah kita sedar betapa pentingnya seorang wanita bernama isteri...

So guys out there... jgn buli isteri kita. Kalau boleh, tolong dia buat kerja rumah. Bukan dok depan TV every weekend baca paper. Apa ingat dorang ni sumer kuli ke?! M aid ker?!! Kan dia tu bini kita, best fren kita, sweetheart kita...

Ingat duit hantaran yang kita kasik dia masa nikah dulu cukup ker nak bayar gaji dia seumur hidup??!!

And furthermore, kan sama2 keja carik rezeki, sama jugak lah buat keja rumah. Kadang2 bila poket kita sesak, tak ingat ker dialah orang yang paling terdekat kita nak kenyeng-kenyeng duit. Tak kesian ker nengok bini kita.

Dah ler satu hari keja kat office, balik kena buat keja rumah lagi... penat tau!! Kalau aku lah diberi peluang jadik seorang wanita... tak rela!!!

So to all mums and wives out there... life will be meaningless without you
mothers)....uuwaaaaaaaa!!

sayangi la kaum perempuan krn tanpa mereka anda kehilangan sesuatu, hargai
mereka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Story of Adversities in Life.

AssalamuAlaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

**Attempt To Think**

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.
2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.

3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag. Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her?

Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender as a cheat.
3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses the above logical answers.

What would you recommend to the Girl to do?

Scroll down if you give up.................

Well, here is what she did ....

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

"Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked."

Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the money-lender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Most complex problems do have a solution.
It is only that we don't attempt to think.

Tomatoes

According to the National Cancer Institute, there is now enough data to show
that people who consume large amounts of tomatoes and tomato products have a  significantly decreased risk for prostate, lung, and stomach cancer. There is some evidence that people who consume a lot of tomatoes may also have a lower risk of pancreatic, colorectal, esophageal, oral, breast, and cervical cancers.

We do not know for sure how or why tomatoes help against cancers. The
consensus seems to be that lycopenes, bioflavonoids that are closely related to beta carotene, present in tomatoes are the natural cancer-fighting agents responsible. Cooking releases the fat-soluble lycopenes from the fruits' cells. In fact, cooking tomatoes rather than eating them raw has been shown to more than double the effectiveness of the lycopene tomatoes contain. A small amount of added oil, such as that in pizza or tomato sauce, intensifies the protective effect.

Numerous other potentially beneficial compounds are present in tomatoes,
and, conceivably, complex interactions among multiple components may contribute to the anticancer properties of tomatoes.

Coronary Heart Diseases

Studies have shown that consuming tomatoes and tomato products containing lycopene reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The tomato help to dissolve animal fat in foods such as in butter, cheese,
eggs, pork, beef, and many deep-fried foods, thereby preventing hardening of the arteries.
Tomato is also useful in reducing high blood pressure, a major risk factor for
coronary heart diseases and stroke.

Lycopene, present in abundance in red tomatoes, is a potent antioxidant. Recent research has demonstrated that lycopene is at least twice as effective as b-carotene in protecting blood lymphocytes from NO2 radical damage.

Lycopene is found to reduce LDL oxidation more effectively than beta-carotene. Scientists have found that a combination of lycopene with vitamin E prevents LDL oxidation more effectively than each substance separately.

A clinical study showed that Lithuanians who suffered a high rate of mortality from coronary heart disease has a low blood lycopene levels.

In one clinical trial, 6 healthy males were given 60 mg of lycopene daily for a three month period. Their plasma LDL cholesterol concentration reduced by 14%. Thus, in addition to protecting LDL from oxidation, tomato's lycopene also inhibits cholesterol synthesis. Tomatoes Reduces High Blood
Pressure (Hypertension)

Potassium is very important for the kidneys. Potassium was found to reduce high blood pressure. One jumbo tomato (approximately 3 inches in diameter and weighing about 7 oz.) contains nearly 450 mg. of potassium.
Eye Irritation
To relieve bloodshot eyes, Chinese doctors suggest eating 1 or 2 fresh tomatoes first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Scientists believe that the Vitamin C and flavonoids in the tomatoes strengthen the blood vessels.
Tomato Cleanses and Rejuvenates the skin
Tomato is excellent for cleaning and rejuvenating the skin. We will give three applications: in a face peel, as a mask and in a cleansing grain.  Later we will show how it can be used to restore skin damaged by sunburn.

Face Peels
Tomato is excellent for a face peel that loosens the top layer of dead skin cells and rub them off. It is good for all types of skins. Rub tomato slices directly into your clean skin, concentrating on areas infested with blockheads. Tomatoes contain vitamin C, which has healing powers, and an acid that removes dead skin and unplugs pores, making skin soft and radiant.
Tomato Mask
Slice a ripe tomato as thin as possible. Lie down and close your eyes. Apply the slices to your face. Wait 10 to 15 minutes. Let the juices seep into your skin. After the 10 to 15 minutes are up, use a slice to rub the juices  further into the skin. The tomato works as a face peel, removing all dead, dry skin and leaving your face soft, glossy, and smooth. Rub off the excess tomato, leaving the residue on your skin. The mild natural acidity of the
tomato restores the ph balance of your skin.
Tomato-Almond Meal Grains
For tougher face cleaning applications a more abrasive and effective mixture may be needed. Add almond slices into a blender. Pulverize. Add an equal amount of  mashed ripe tomato. Mix well. Apply over the area of the skin you want. This cleansing grain removes rough dead skin cells, and makes the skin smooth. It is also effective against blockheads. This will work against even the most stubborn areas around the nose and chin. It stimulates circulation and restores the color of sallow, tired skin.

Remove the mixture with cool water or wipe it off, leaving a coating of the natural oils and juices.

Caution:

This is very abrasive. Use with caution. When skin is sensitive due to too much sun, eruptions, or abrasions, wait until the problems have gone. Use no more than twice a week, only once if it tend to  irritate.
Healing Sunburn
Proponents say that tomatoes are useful for healing sunburn. Tomato can be used to transform a painful sunburn into a modest tan.

Soak peeled tomato slices in buttermilk. Apply them  directly on the skin affected. It will close up the pores and relieve the pain. Alternately, make a puree out of thinly peeled tomatoes. Add a little buttermilk (don't add too much; it will make the mixture runny.) Spread this  mixture over the sunburned skin. This will give a tan over the spot where
the sunburn used to be!

Restores the Health of the Liver
Tomatoes play a key role in liver health. Russian doctors prescribe tomatoes in the diets of factory workers exposed to toxic chemical. Tomatoes are useful detoxifiers because of the presence of chlorine and sulphur, two very important detoxifying trace elements. 100 grams of uncooked tomato contains  51 mg. of chlorine and 11 mg. of sulphur.

Natural chlorine helps to stimulate the liver. It assists liver in its task as an important filter for body wastes. Tomato also assists the liver in removing the toxic waste products from the system.

Sulphur helps to protect the liver from cirrhosis and other debilitating conditions.

Drinking fresh tomato juice can help to regenerate the damaged, destroyed or surgically removed liver.

Tomatoes help promote the health and well-being of  liver. "A tomato a day, keeps the liver in good stay!," according to John Heinerman, noted author and herbalist.

Music & Movies in Motivation

The Power of a Great Story: Why Movies and Music Move and Motivate Us
I believe films and music have the power to motivate and move us in a very powerful way. A great script brought to life by wonderful actors can touch us in very profound ways. We gladly hand over our money to be entertained but why do some films affect us in such a strong way?

I believe the impact of great film or piece of music happens because we get to engage all of our senses. We are mesmerized because we see it, hear it, feel it and involve our active imagination as well. It can spark memories or “hit” us in a place that triggers real emotion. For film or theater none of this happens until we make an unspoken agreement.
The agreement we, as the audience make is to suspend our beliefs for 2 hours. The suspension of belief allows us to be completely immersed in a story even if what we’re watching can’t happen in “real life”.

People loved the Indiana Jones, Star Wars or the “Back To The Future” films because we made the unspoken agreement to suspend our belief for 2 hours and let the stories move us. Even though most of the “events” in the films did not reflect “real life” they provided important messages and entertained us at the same time.

This got me wondering. What if we suspended our beliefs in our daily lives? We agree to do it when we walk into the movie theater (and pay for it!) so why not when we step into our lives? Here are 3 benefits of suspending your belief every day:

• Increase in “Present Time” Focus-- When focused “in the moment” we reduce our preconceived notions about people and situations and therefore are less “cluttered” in our minds. Being “in the moment” is like being in the “zone” athletes refer to so much. When we are there we are more focused, relaxed and energized.

• Improved Listening Skills-- When we are focused in the present we are able to communicate more effectively. Without the distraction of negative or limiting thoughts we are able to listen with greater clarity and be more attentive to the person we are speaking to.

• Stronger Commitment-- Think back to one of your favorite films and you might find that you enjoyed it because you were fully engaged and committed to the story. We love certain films because they spark something within us whether it’s a sense of adventure, romance, uplifting the human spirit or any other human condition we relate to. Next time you perform a task or just communicate with another person be fully engaged and
notice if you feel more powerful and energized (and the impact on them as well).

Films can motivate and inspire us whether they are fiction or not and powerful messages never go out of style. They help us reconnect with a part of us that triggers us to think, feel and act differently even if for a short time. John Lennon has been gone for 25 years and yet the moving messages in his music can affect you today the same it did 25 years ago. It doesn’t matter how old it is because anything that “hits” us at our core will always have the ability to move and motivate us. Imagine…
